Science Investigation/Science Fair

My topic is: The Weather (Planet Earth and Beyond)

Aim:

  • What do you want to find out?
  • Why do you want to do the experiment?

My aim is to predict a long term and/or a short term weather in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch, by looking at the weather patterns last year at this time of the year, e.g. first week of June.

Hypothesis:

  • What do you think will happen?
  • Make an educated guess from the background research you have done

My hypothesis is that I can predict the weather in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch correctly, by looking at past weathers.

Equipment:

  • Find out and list all the experiment and resources you need

1. Resources like internet, news, books etc. about weather (recorded weather in the past 12 months.

Method:

  • Give the instructions clearly and concisely to your experiment in order, so that some one else can repeat it.
  • Number each step, and begin each step with a verb, e.g. place, mix, cut.

1. Research and collect data on weathers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch in the Winter/Summer months.

2. Organise my data, and look at weather patterns, e.g. temperatures, rain falls, etc., in each city.

3. Predict an accurate weather for each city for certain day and/or week from your data.
